Testimonials

We have known Chris for the past 8 years. We first hired him as a General Contractor to repair structural defects which morphed into replacing our entire roof. Miscellaneous interior renovations followed, including the remodeling of our master bedroom/bath and relocating a home office. He oversaw the addition of a solar system, supervised the replacement of our asphalt driveway with cobblestones and worked with our architect and landscaper to build a new redwood fence in conjunction with re-landscaping the property. His latest project with us included a new pool, pool deck, patio, and trellis (with heaters incorporated) and a full outdoor kitchen. Since we are part-time residents in Montecito, we also hired him to manage the house and property while we are away.
Chris is honest, diligent and works with a great group of subcontractors. He interfaces with other professionals such as our architect, designer and landscaper in a seamless manner. The product of his efforts has been more positive and well executed than we could have anticipated. He is easy going, diligent and seems to always have the needs of the client as his first priority. Our dog, Sophie, loves Chris and she is quite discerning! We would recommend Chris’ work to anyone who is looking for a quality contractor.

Chris Kirkbride and his team have helped me with remodeling a number of times over the past twenty years, always with great results. The first project was an addition to a guesthouse in Ojai, adding several bedrooms. Then he added an office with a coffered ceiling to a home in Santa Barbara. The last and most extensive renovation was a major remodel of a big house in Santa Barbara, where he designed and built a library -TV room, an office, several bathrooms and installed wood floors on two levels. The kitchen was also extensively remodeled and two terraces tiled. Innovative lighting was installed throughout the house, a wine cellar was added and a custom paint job enhanced the project. I highly recommend his work.

My husband and I first met Chris Kirkbride in 1999 when we hired him to do a complete renovation of our 1920’s Spanish Revival House in Santa Barbara. This was a massive undertaking which Chris handled with complete professionalism and inordinate craftsmanship. The job required restoring the home to its original state after being horribly “modernized” by the previous owner. Chris assembled a group of fabulous sub-contractors; restored the Spanish tile, hardwood floors, kitchen, bathrooms, and wrought iron work…essentially the entire home. He lined up the right people who expertly handled the task of rebuilding the pool and found a landscape architect for the property design. A year after completion we won the Pearl Chase Award! This we attribute to the attention and detail Chris gives to all his work.
We continued our wonderful relationship with Chris when we moved to our new home in Montecito. He worked his magic once again with a wide-scale renovation including a gorgeous multi-media theatre. Since then he has built another bedroom/bath for us as well as overseeing the expansion of our retreat/office which is housed in a separate building on our property. Chris is a perfectionist, easy to work with, knowledgeable about every aspect of building and renovation, and has excellent artistic instincts. He takes great pride in his work and the quality of his craftsmanship. And I hope I’m not giving away a secret, but he is also a pro at hanging art!
